The tension rises as we build up to a number-one contender match between Wes Lee and Ilja Dragunov. Additionally, we’ll witness Tiffany Stratton defending her “NXT” Women’s Title against the fierce Kiana James. But the excitement doesn’t stop there: Becky Lynch has announced that she will challenge Stratton for the title tonight!
Outside the arena, we catch a glimpse of Becky Lynch making her way through the parking lot. Thankfully, she remains unharmed, adding an extra layer of anticipation to this epic clash.
Wes Lee vs. Ilja Dragunov – The Battle for the Championship
The stakes are high as Wes Lee and Ilja Dragunov face off in a thrilling match to determine the number-one contender for the “NXT” Championship. The winner will have the chance to take on Carmelo Hayes at No Mercy. The intensity kicks into high gear as Lee executes a pair of daring dives, sending Dragunov crashing outside the ring. Dragunov retaliates with a powerful German suplex that leaves Lee reeling on the announcers’ desk. The excitement builds as we head into a brief break.
Returning from the break, Dragunov seizes control, unleashing a barrage of attacks on Lee in the corner. However, Lee fights back, engaging in a furious exchange of forearm strikes at the center of the ring. The resilient Lee retaliates with a series of devastating kicks and a breathtaking double stomp, leaving both competitors exhausted.
A back-and-forth battle ensues, with Lee relentlessly chopping away at Dragunov in the corner. However, Dragunov refuses to back down, countering Lee’s final chop attempt and launching a fiery counterattack. Lee attempts a Spanish Fly, but Dragunov narrowly escapes with a two-count. The intense action continues, with Dragunov delivering hard-hitting elbows while Lee struggles to execute a German suplex. In a stunning reversal, Lee tries a handstand head-scissor takedown, only to be caught off guard by Dragunov’s precise kick to the gut, followed by a lariat for yet another near-fall.
Undeterred, Lee fiercely fights back, attempting the Kardiak Kick, but Dragunov dramatically spins with Lee on his shoulder. In a thrilling turn of events, Lee manages to reverse this move into a tornado DDT. Dragunov rolls out of the ring, and Lee fearlessly follows with a daring dive over the corner post. He rolls Dragunov back into the ring and ascends the top turnbuckle. However, Dragunov recovers and meets him at the summit. With astonishing agility, Dragunov executes a superplex, crashing Lee to the mat. As the crowd roars, Dragunov lands his diving forearm on the fallen Lee, narrowly securing a two-count. The tension builds as Dragunov prepares for his signature move, Torpedo Moscow. Lee counters with a knee strike, but Dragunov responds with a fierce blow to the back of Lee’s head, ultimately sealing the pinfall victory.
Ilja Dragunov Claims the Throne
Ilja Dragunov emerges triumphant, securing his spot as the new number-one contender for the “NXT” Championship. As the crowd applauds his hard-fought victory, “NXT” Champion Carmelo Hayes makes his entrance. Standing in the entrance aisle, Hayes engages in a heated exchange of words with Dragunov in the ring, setting the stage for an epic showdown.
We are treated to footage of Tiffany Stratton arriving at the arena earlier in the day, adding to the anticipation of her upcoming title defense.
